Research interests
In my research I focus on metamorphic processes in (evolving) mountain belts. More specifically this comes down to:
Evolution of metamorphic rocks: high-pressure rocks, Pressure-Temperature-time paths of metamorphic rocks, the relation between metamorphism and deformation (macro and microstructures).
Fluid-rock interaction of eclogites in subduction zone settings.
Geodynamics of mountain belts, in particular the European Alps and the Altai Nuur and Darib Range of western Mongolia.
Controls on the progression of metamorphic reactions, in particular in relationship to symplectite formation. The role of fluids, their impact on metamorphic reactions and deformation processes.
Multidisciplinary approach to geological problems, preferably in co-operation with specialists from complementary fields.
